On a rainy spring morning in Gilbert, I noticed how the overcast sky softened the light, making the cinnamon hues of this teal really pop against the green. The bird’s direct, head-on stance gave the scene a quiet intensity, like it was cutting a clean line through the calm water. The reflection added to that focused, deliberate feeling.
